Free Student Tickets

**Middle and high school students attend free, and so does one adult chaperone.**
GSO welcomes students in Galveston ISD and participating private schools to eligible concerts at no cost. Each registered student can bring one adult chaperone, also free.

Masterworks I: Trond Sæverud, violin (World Premiere)

On October 25, our Music Director, Trond Sæverud, winner of the Spellemannprisen (Norway's Grammy Award), steps forward to perform and conduct the world premiere of his own violin concerto, a new work commissioned exclusively for this orchestra, alongside Nielsen's Overture to Masquerade and Sibelius's Symphony No. 5.

"Classical Favorites with a Wink," a playful afternoon of Mozart, Haydn, and their Classical-era contemporaries, comic works of the period, and a new work for viola, cello, and bass.

On February 21, Steinway Artist Evelyn Chen, praised by The New York Times as "a pianist to watch," performs Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21, framed by Verdi and Rachmaninoff.

On April 4, cellist Julian Schwarz, first-prize winner of the Schoenfeld International String Competition, takes on Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1, alongside Rossini and Beethoven.
