Classical music has always had room for wit. January Pops takes a lighter look at the Classical era with music by Mozart, Haydn and their contemporaries, including comic works alongside familiar favorites.
The program also looks forward with a new work for viola, cello and bass. It is designed as an approachable entry point for first-time orchestra audiences without turning the music into a novelty: recognizable style, unexpected humor and a few surprises at The Grand 1894 Opera House.
