Poetry and Power at the Keyboard
Three distinct musical worlds come together in one afternoon. Verdi opens with the drama of La Forza del Destino before pianist Evelyn Chen joins the GSO for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, filled with warmth, elegance and memorable melodies. After intermission, Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 1 brings the orchestra to full scale with a powerful conclusion to the program.
